experts,

my database is experience some performance problem. when i check from OEM i am able to see "active session wait :userI/O"
and read by other session wait event are high.

and when i check for top 5 sql statements and execution plans every thing is taking index scans. i am not able to pin point what could be the exact problem. can any one help to find more information on

active session waits : user I/O and read by other session waits.

how to find the cause of these wait events.
